Väder AB (“Bounds,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you download, access, or use the Bounds mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should discontinue use of the App and delete it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect data necessary to deliver the App’s functionality, personalize your experience, provide insights, and improve our services.

Information You Provide Voluntarily:

• Onboarding & Profile Data: Name, gender, people-pleaser type (e.g., guilt, fear, achievement), goals, symptoms, and the underlying “whys” you provide during setup.
• Behavioral & Tracking Logs: Decision logs (whether you held a boundary or gave in), somatic (body) check-in responses, emotional reflections, clarity ratings, and custom scripts you create.
• Community Content: If you participate in our community features, we collect your display name, comments, and posts. Community content is transmitted to our servers and visible to other participants.

Automatically Collected Information:

• Analytics Data: We use third-party analytics providers (such as PostHog) to understand how the App is used. This includes feature usage events (e.g., “completed weekly review”, “onboarding completed”), session durations, and general navigation patterns. We do not include the content of your personal reflections or decision logs in analytics events.
• Device & Technical Info: Device model, operating system version, App version, and crash diagnostics (via Sentry) to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
• Subscription Information: Subscription status and purchase history managed securely through providers like RevenueCat, Apple, or Google. We do not store or process your credit card numbers.

Data Storage:

Some personal data (such as your behavioral logs and reflections) may be stored on your device, on our servers, or both, depending on the features you use. Where we offer cloud synchronization or backup features, your data will be transmitted to and stored on our secure servers to enable access across devices and data recovery.

2. Sensitive Personal Information

Because Bounds helps you track emotional states, behavioral patterns, and boundary-setting, some of the information you provide may be considered sensitive personal data under applicable privacy laws (such as the GDPR). This may include information about your emotional state, body sensations, interpersonal conflicts, and relationship dynamics. We process this data strictly to provide you with the App’s core functionality—such as generating personalized insights, timelines, and tailored boundary scripts.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, personalize, and maintain the App’s features and your user profile.
• Generate habit-tracking insights and progress analytics.
• Securely store your data so you can access your history and progress.
• Analyze usage patterns to improve product performance, UX, and reliability.
• Process subscriptions, provide customer support, and detect technical issues.
• Moderate community content and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

As a Swedish company, we process personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal bases include:

• Performance of a Contract: Processing necessary to provide the App’s habit-tracking, script generation, and insight services.
• Legitimate Interests: Analyzing app usage to improve features, maintaining security, moderating community content, and preventing fraud.
• Consent: Where required by law, we rely on your explicit consent (e.g., for processing sensitive behavioral data or sending push notifications). You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information or behavioral data to data brokers, nor do we use it for advertising profiling.

We share information only in limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We share data with trusted vendors that provide cloud hosting, product analytics (e.g., PostHog), crash reporting (e.g., Sentry), and subscription management (e.g., RevenueCat). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required to comply with applicable laws, court orders, subpoenas, or legal process, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and our Company.
• Business Transfers: If Bounds is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred to the acquiring entity under the same privacy commitments.

6. Law Enforcement and Legal Requests

We may be required to disclose data held on our servers (such as community posts, account information, and analytics) in response to valid legal process, including court orders, subpoenas, or warrants. Where permitted by law, we will attempt to notify affected users before disclosing their data. We evaluate all requests for legal validity and scope, and disclose only the minimum information required.

Data stored only on your device (such as decision logs and reflections) is not accessible to us and cannot be produced by us in response to legal requests.

7. Data Security and Retention

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and secure cloud infrastructure, to protect your information. However, no digital system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the services. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or auditing purposes.

8. Community Content and Safety

Content you share in community features is visible to other users and is stored on our servers. You may delete your own community posts at any time through the App. If you need community content removed urgently for safety reasons (e.g., domestic abuse, stalking, or doxxing concerns), contact us at hello@withbounds.com and we will prioritize removal.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/EEA under GDPR), you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your personal data (“Right to be Forgotten”).
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
• Request data portability.

You can delete your local data directly within the App settings. To exercise your rights regarding data held on our servers, please contact us at hello@withbounds.com. We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR.

EU users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. In Sweden, the supervisory authority is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY) at imy.se.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material updates will be communicated through the App or by updating the date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
