Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Bounds mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “App” or “Service”) provided by Väder AB (“Bounds,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately stop using the App and delete it from your device.

Important Disclaimers

Medical and Educational Disclaimer

Bounds is a self-help, habit-awareness, and boundary-tracking application designed to support users seeking to reduce people-pleasing patterns and make more intentional decisions. While the App draws on concepts from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (CBT & ACT), these frameworks are used as educational inspiration only. The App:

• is not a medical service
• is not therapy, counseling, or psychiatric care
• is not a medical device
• does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical or mental health condition
• does not deliver or replicate any clinical protocol from the frameworks listed above

Nothing contained in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. No doctor–patient, therapist–client, or healthcare provider relationship is created by use of the App.

If you are experiencing mental health distress, trauma-related crises, or severe emotional distress, you should consult a qualified healthcare professional immediately. The App is not a substitute for professional treatment.

Behavioral Health and Emotional Risk Disclaimer

The Bounds App addresses topics related to people-pleasing, boundary-setting, somatic (body) awareness, and interpersonal relationships. These topics inherently involve sensitive personal, emotional, and psychological issues. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Individual Results Vary: Behavioral change is a highly individualized process. The App does not guarantee any particular results, including improved relationships, emotional improvement, or psychological benefit.
• Risk of Emotional Distress: Tracking behaviors, practicing somatic check-ins, setting boundaries, and changing interpersonal dynamics may cause emotional reactions including stress, anxiety, guilt, frustration, or interpersonal conflict. Such reactions are a normal possibility when engaging with behavioral change tools.
• Somatic and Body-Awareness Exercises: The App includes body-scan and somatic check-in features that ask you to notice physical sensations such as tension, tightness, or discomfort. For individuals with a history of trauma, these exercises may activate trauma-related responses including flashbacks, dissociation, panic, or heightened distress. If you experience any of these responses, stop the exercise immediately and seek support from a qualified professional. The App is not designed to treat or process trauma.
• User Responsibility for Decisions: Users remain solely responsible for their personal decisions, boundary-setting actions, and communications with others. Any decisions regarding your relationships, career, or lifestyle changes should be made independently or in consultation with qualified professionals.
• Community Content is Not Professional Advice: Content shared by other users in community features does not constitute professional advice and may not be accurate, safe, or appropriate for your specific situation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that Bounds shall not be liable for any claims arising from: emotional distress related to habit tracking or boundary setting; relationship conflicts or outcomes; mental health outcomes associated with use of the App; interactions with other users; or reliance on App insights, scripts, or behavioral tracking tools.

Boundary Scripts Disclaimer

The App provides suggested language (“boundary scripts”) to help you articulate your needs in various situations. These scripts are general-purpose suggestions only. They are not tailored to your specific circumstances, relationships, or environment. You are solely responsible for deciding whether, when, and how to use any suggested language. Bounds is not liable for the outcome of any conversation, confrontation, or interpersonal interaction in which App-provided scripts or language are used, adapted, or referenced.

Safety in High-Risk Relationships

Setting boundaries in relationships involving domestic abuse, coercive control, or physical violence can escalate dangerous situations. The App does not assess your personal safety. If you are in a relationship where setting a boundary could put you or others at risk of harm, please consult a domestic violence professional or contact your local crisis services before acting on any guidance from the App. The App is designed for interpersonal growth in generally safe environments and is not a safety-planning tool.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and your use of the App is supervised where required by law. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access where age requirements are not met.

2. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features, you may be required to register your device or create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, maintain the security of your device and credentials, and promptly notify us of unauthorized access. You are solely responsible for all activity occurring under your account or device identifier.

3. License to Use the App

Subject to compliance with these Terms, Bounds grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download and use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

4. Intellectual Property Restrictions

The App and all related technology, including software, algorithms, designs, graphics, text, customized boundary scripts, somatic tracking models, and user interfaces, are the exclusive property of Väder AB.

You may not, directly or indirectly: copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, or create derivative works of the App; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the App; attempt to extract source code or data models; scrape, harvest, or collect data from the App; use automated bots or crawlers; or use the App to build a competing product or service.

5. AI Training and Data Extraction Prohibition

You may not use the App, its content, data, functionality, or underlying technology to train, develop, fine-tune, or improve any artificial intelligence, machine learning, or large language model systems without our prior express written consent. Any attempt to use the App or its data for automated model training, dataset generation, or algorithm development is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of access and potential legal action.

6. User Content

The App allows you to create or submit content such as decision logs, custom boundary scripts, journal notes, and community posts. You retain ownership of your content. By submitting content through the App, you grant Bounds a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, analyze, display, and transmit such content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, improving, and analyzing the App and its services.

7. Community Features

The App includes community features where users can share experiences, support each other, and discuss boundary-setting topics. By participating, you agree that:

• You will not post content that is abusive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or that encourages self-harm or harm to others.
• You will not provide medical, therapeutic, or crisis advice to other users.
• You understand that community content reflects the personal opinions of individual users, not the views of Bounds.
• Bounds may (but is not obligated to) monitor, moderate, or remove community content at its sole discretion.
• If you encounter content that concerns you or suggests a user may be in crisis, you should report it through the App’s reporting features rather than attempting to intervene directly.

Bounds does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or appropriateness of any user-generated content and assumes no liability for interactions between users or for any actions taken based on community content.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other users
• Post content that is illegal, harmful, explicit, or exploitative
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Provide medical, therapeutic, or crisis intervention advice to other users
• Exploit the App for commercial purposes without authorization
• Attempt to bypass or interfere with moderation or security systems
• Use the App for spam, solicitation, or unsolicited communications
• Interfere with or degrade the functionality of the App

9. Subscriptions and Billing

The App’s full functionality requires a paid subscription or one-time purchase. Subscriptions and purchases may be made through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or other authorized payment processors (including web-based checkout where available). Billing terms are governed by the applicable platform provider.

• Auto-Renewal: Recurring subscriptions (e.g., monthly or annual) automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends (via your device settings).
• Lifetime Access: If you purchase a lifetime (one-time) plan, no recurring charges apply. Access is granted for the lifetime of the App as a commercially available product.
• Free Trials: If a free trial is provided, no charge applies during the trial. The subscription auto-renews at the trial’s end unless canceled at least 24 hours before expiration.
• EU Right of Withdrawal: If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. By beginning to use premium features during this period, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of digital content and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is waived once access to premium content begins.
• Refunds: Outside of the EU withdrawal right above, all subscription purchases and one-time purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or the refund policies of Apple or Google. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel your subscription or entitle you to a refund.
• Access After Cancellation: Upon cancellation of a recurring subscription, premium access continues until the current billing period ends.

10. Termination and Suspension

Bounds may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the App or any of its features at any time, with or without notice, if you:

• Violate these Terms or engage in prohibited conduct
• Misuse community features or create risk for other users
• Engage in conduct that creates legal, security, or reputational risk for the Company

Upon termination, your license to use the App is immediately revoked. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will continue to apply.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VÄDER AB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, RELATIONSHIP DISPUTES, INTERPERSONAL CONFLICTS, LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE USE OF THE APP, ITS SCRIPTS, BODY-AWARENESS EXERCISES, COMMUNITY FEATURES, OR BEHAVIORAL TRACKING TOOLS. In no event shall our total cumulative liability exceed the greater of one hundred Euros (€100 EUR) or the total amount paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Väder AB and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your use of the App; your use of boundary scripts or suggested language in interpersonal interactions; content you submit or share through community features; your violation of these Terms; or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved by the courts of Sweden. For consumers residing in the EU/EEA, this does not affect your right to invoke mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.

14. Third-Party Platform Terms

If the App is downloaded from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Väder AB, not Apple Inc., and that Apple has no responsibility for the App or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Similar provisions apply to other platform providers to the extent required by their terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
